What we collect and why.

Last updated August 27, 2026.

This policy covers the RDLTR web app and browser extension.

Account

Your handle and email, plus a Neologin account ID.

We use Neologin to sign you in. rdltr never sees or stores a password.

Links

URLs you save, plus their titles, descriptions, and article text.

We store article text for search and reading features.

Public by default. Anyone can see your reading list.

Plus members can make their pages private.

Plus ends, privacy doesn't.

Browser extension

The extension stores an RDLTR access token in local browser storage.

Chrome can sync your selected AI service through your Chrome account.

When you save a page, the extension sends its URL, title, and article text to RDLTR.

When you summarize the current page, the extension sends its URL, title, and article text to RDLTR. RDLTR stores the text only when the page is already in your reading list.

To deliver a requested summary, the extension temporarily stores the source URL and available article text in local browser storage. It normally removes this local copy before it tries to submit the request. If the service page or delivery process cannot finish, the data can remain until another attempt or until you clear the extension's storage.

A summary sends the source URL to your selected service. When article text is available, the extension also sends that text to the service: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity.

These services process the article under their own privacy policies.

When you use the archive action, the extension opens the page URL through archive.ph. Medium pages open through Freedium. These services receive the page URL.

RDLTR uses this data only for reading-list and user-requested summary features.

RDLTR's use of information from Chrome APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Email

When you claim a handle, we send one welcome email and up to two getting-started emails.

We use Resend to deliver them. Resend receives your email address and message content.

Saving a link stops the two getting-started emails. Unsubscribing, bouncing, or reporting spam stops every remaining email.

Analytics

The RDLTR web app uses Umami for privacy-friendly analytics.

No cookies. No personal data. Just page views and referrers.

Storage

The RDLTR web app stores account and link data in a SQLite database on our server.

The web app uses cookies for authentication (session token), plus small preferences: your sort order and your timezone, so daily counts end the day where you are.

No third-party trackers.

Deletion

Want your data gone? Email us.

We'll delete your account and all your links.

Changes

We may update this policy. Major changes will be announced.
